Day 5 - Mum is still laughing

After a quiet morning of shopping and poolside reading, we took off for Ulu Watu and Jimbaran Bay - the former being about an hour away by car.

Ulu Watu is home to one of the most sacred Hindu temples in Bali, perched precariously high on top of sheer cliffs.

And home to these f#ckers.

"Keep them out of the light, don't get them wet, and never, ever feed them after midnight". I don't remember how to kill Gremlins unfortunately...

They steal everything. Well, we knew this so had hidden everything like glasses, sun glasses. Who knew one would have an obsession with my hair band. One minute everything was fine then it landed on my back, whisked my hair tie off with it's vile little rabid monkey hand and then sat just out of reach chewing it with it's little rabid monkey teeth. Mum is still laughing. There were screams all over the temple as monkeys stole things. The Japanese tourists lost a lot of thongs - there were a lot of woeful looking specimens getting back on their transport with one shoe. Or none!

Even so I suppose some of them are quite cute.

This mother employed the "hold the tail" method of infant restraint. I know some children back home that could benefit from a tail for such a purpose.

Once I got used to looking out for stalker monkeys we could enjoy the temple.

We got told to tie this sash around our waists. Check out where I think my waist is, and where Mum thinks hers is.....

The only trustworthy monkey in the joint... They are obsessed with anatomical correctness here. Not necessary!

We stopped at Padang Padang on the way to Jimbaran - gorgeous surf beach.

And then it was sunset, drinks and seafood at Jimbaran Bay. Given it's proximity to Kuta, there was also a lot of bogans.

Food was really good!

Good ambience. Except every 20 minutes Mum would die laughing and say "I wonder what the monkey thought he was going to do with it????"

It was quite noice.

Plus entertainment.
